Project Background

East Fort Worth is an area of rich history and has been evaluated for transportation and land use improvements since the 2016-2017 East Lancaster Complete Streets Project. In January 2021, the City of Fort Worth and Trinity Metro began the Advancing East Lancaster Project, focused on street network improvements and development opportunities.

The Fort Worth Eastside Transportation Plan (FWETP) builds upon this work and expands the study area to emphasize the larger impact of transportation enhancements for the region. The FWETP will evaluate comprehensive transportation impacts, include robust public engagement, and advance safety and economic opportunities for the community.
